Jean Paul Gaultier SS25. PFW

Jean Paul Gaultier’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection, “Mélusine,” reimagined the siren through a mesmerizing sensuality and the sensibility that exists within such thing.

Under Ludovic de Saint Sernin, the runway became an ethereal deep-sea fantasy—wet-look hair, pearlescent veils, and webbed beaded gloves. Immersive beauty was the echo of the haunting soundtrack and the undulating oceanic backdrop. Season favourites such as reflective sequins, iridescent mesh, and reptilian-textured leathers revealed the complexity of vulnerability as layered sifting lines of fragility, resilience and resistance.

De Saint Sernin’s vision for Gaultier masterfully fastened together heritage and reinvention, once again proving that couture is not just about garments. What is truly calling out is the storytelling of seduction, power and play—the enduring transforming of both the willing and unwilling.
